TITLE- MY MOTHER'S EYES
AUTHOR- JEREMY RAY
PAGES- 38
"No matter what tragedy strikes, the story goes on. Life always continues."
Short reads are always very helpful in coming out from a reading slump. This one helps me in that way.
🔹This short book has an immense power to stick you throughout the book. The author beautifully carved out the emotions of a child towards his mother.
🔹Jordie's mother was in a coma and he wanted to draw a portrait of her mother but he was unable to draw her mother's eyes.
Lines gave below truly shows the emotions of a child whose mother is in a coma and what he thinks about her :
"Do I believe that? That maybe she’s caught somewhere between life and death? For a moment, I picture death trying to steal her away and life tugging back. Is it like that, a game of tug of war? Are life and death fighting over her.? "
🔹The story was very heartbreaking. The narration and characters are quite realistic.
🔹Author has the power of leaving a strong impact in fewer words. This one is my second read by the author and I am really impressed by his writing style.
